In today’s world, lawyers face various ethics issues relating to cybersecurity and data security. Privacy and data security have evolved from issues that primarily impacted healthcare and financial services companies to issues that affect all companies. In addition, all companies, no matter what industry (retail, financial, health, law) or size are at risk of data breaches from hackers, disgruntled employees and other malicious actors. Using the ABA's model rules, this program covers the ethical issues and best practices for lawyers advising in-house clients with respect to data security issues.
