Course Description

Length: 1h 0min    Published: 3/13/2025
This continuing legal education seminar will explore product liability lawsuits filed against cosmetic companies for failure to warn consumers about a link to reproductive health problems. According to the National Institutes of Health (NIH), BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, People of Color) women who "used chemical hair straightening products were at higher risk for uterine cancer compared to women who did not report using these products." Discussions will include chemical hair relaxers litigation filed against cosmetic companies, related government medical studies, and how to effectively work with primarily BIPOC women in chemical hair relaxers litigation. Legal practice areas relevant to the urgent topic include product liability, health law, medical malpractice, torts, personal injury, and reproductive rights.
