In 2009, President Obama signed into law the Affordable Care Act, restructuring healthcare access opportunities in the U.S. The Act, or "Obamacare", was ruled constitutional by a 5-4 vote of the Supreme Court. In this program, Eric Hargan, healthcare attorney and former Deputy Secretary of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, gives a detailed overview of the Act, paying particular focus to those issues affecting employers and employees.

Among the key topics covered are:
1) The Individual Mandate - The requirement for all Americans to buy health insurance or face a penalty.
2) The Employer Mandate - The requirement for companies with 50 or more employees to provide healthcare insurance.
3) Medicaid Changes - The threshold was raised and the coverage was expanded.

Mr. Hargan will also discuss potential impacts of the Act that, once rollout is completed, are expected to have on individuals and businesses.
