Course Description

Length: 56min    Published: 3/18/2025
Attorneys often juggle career and lifestyle aspirations with financial goals. They often face tradeoffs between lifestyle and remuneration, striking out on their own or staying at a larger firm, or public versus private sector jobs. To a large extent, these and many other career decisions are driven by financial considerations. In this session, we explore three fundamental financial planning questions: How much cash flow will you need in order to retire or engage in a career transition? How much savings do you need to generate that cash flow? And how do you get to the needed level of savings from where you are today? The ability to analyze and answer these questions will empower attorneys to make well thought-out career decisions. This session is presented by Dr. Harry Mamaysky, a finance professor at Columbia Business School and founder of QuantStreet Capital, an investment firm that helps attorneys with portfolio allocation and financial planning.
