Matthew Carter Bio

Matthew Carter moved from Tennessee to Southern California in 2001 to attend the Pepperdine University School of Law. After graduating in 2004 with both a law degree and a certificate from Pepperdine’s top-rated Strauss Institute for Dispute Resolution, he was admitted to the California and Nevada bars, and has since practiced trial and appellate litigation in both states. In Nevada, Mr. Carter served as counsel on several complex litigation cases before the trial and appellate courts of Nevada, as well as the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals and the United States Supreme Court. Mr. Carter joined Wright, Finlay & Zak as an associate attorney in May 2017 and is now the Managing Attorney of the Nevada Office. Mr. Carter focuses primarily on real estate litigation, including HOA litigation, title disputes, and appellate matters. Mr. Carter regularly practices in state and federal courts throughout Nevada, where he has established a reputation as an AV-rated trial and appellate attorney on Martindale Hubbell. Mr. Carter is an active member of the Clark County Bar Association.
