Vermont CLE Requirements Overview

The Vermont Supreme Court mandates that all active attorneys complete 24 CLE credit hours every two years. This biennial reporting period aligns with the attorney's licensing cycle. Within these 24 hours, at least 2 hours must be dedicated to legal ethics,  1 must be attorney wellness, and 1 must focus on diversity and inclusion. Additionally, attorneys must take 12 credit hours of Moderated Programming or Non-Moderated Programming with Interactivity as a Key Component (aka live VT courses).

Live vs. On-Demand CLE Credits

Vermont requires attorneys to fulfill their CLE requirements through a combination of live and on-demand courses (12 on demand and 12 live). However, it's essential to ensure that the courses are approved by the Vermont Board of Continuing Legal Education to count toward the mandatory hours. All LexVid VT courses have been approved for credit.
