North Carolina's Continuing Legal Education (CLE) Requirement:
The State Bar of North Carolina requires attorneys to complete 12 Continuing Legal Education (CLE) credit hours ever years. The 12 NC CLE hours must include 2 hours of Ethics or Professionalism, and 1 hour of Technology. Every three years 1 credit hour must also be in in Substance Abuse Awareness or debilitating mental conditions, and a lawyer's professional responsibilities.
North Carolina CLE Deadline:
As a North Carolina attorney, your CLE deadline is every year on December 31st. There is an automatic grace period that applies to all attorneys until February 28th.

North Carolina attorneys have until February 28th following their CLE deadline to report their credits earned.

How are my hours reported to the Arkansas CLE Board?
You will receive an annual report form in January of each year. Report your CLE credits using this form and return it no later than February 28 to avoid penalty. The NC State Bar will assess a fee of $3.50 per CLE credit hour reported.
