Ohio CLE Requirements
Ohio's Continuing Legal Education (CLE) Requirement
The State Bar of Ohio requires attorneys to complete 24 Continuing Legal Education (CLE) credit hours every 2 years. The 24 OH CLE hours must include 2.5 hours of
professional conduct courses, like ethics, substance abuse, or mental health. All 24 hours may be completed online.
*COVID 19 Rule Change: Effective January 1, 2023, all 24 CLE credit hours may be earned online and on-demand from accredited providers like LexVid.

Ohio CLE Deadline
The Ohio State Bar groups attorneys into 1 of 2 compliance groups depending on their last name. The CLE deadlines for these groups are:
Group 1 (Last Name A-L)
Compliance Deadline: December 31st, Every Odd Year
Group 2 (Last Name M-Z)
Compliance Deadline: December 31st, Every Even Year
Ohio CLE Reporting Deadline
Ohio attorneys have until January 31st, (30 days after their deadline) to report their CLE Compliance. LexVid reports credits for Ohio.
