Requirements
The State Bar of Illinois requires attorneys to complete 30 Mandatory Continuing Legal Education (MCLE) credit hours every 2 years, including:
- 6 hours of professional responsibility
- 1 hour must be in diversity/inclusion
- 1 hour must be in mental health/substance abuse
All 30 Illinois MCLE credit hours can be earned online with LexVid.
Reporting
The Illinois reporting deadline is July 31st. LexVid reports your completed credits, which will appear on your MCLE transcript by the 15th day of the month following course completion.
To ensure timely reporting, the name and ARDC number on your LexVid account must match your records with the Illinois MCLE Board. Incorrect information may result in delayed reporting, late fees, or noncompliance.
Carry Over Credit
Attorneys may carry over a maximum of 10 credits, including Professional Responsibility.
