Requirements

Utah requires attorneys to complete 12 Continuing Legal Education (CLE) credit hours every year. The 12 UT CLE hours must include at least:

1 hour of ethics
1 hour of professionalism & civility
6 hours of live

6 Utah credit hours can be earned online with LexVid's on demand courses.

Reporting

LexVid will report your Utah CLE credits. Your credits will appear on your transcript within 30 days of completion.

Carry Over Credit

Attorneys are not permitted to carry over credits into the next reporting period.

New: Effective July 1, 2026, Utah attorneys may carry over up to 6 excess CLE credits into the next reporting cycle, excluding Ethics and Professionalism & Civility hours. No carryover is permitted for the current cycle ending June 30, 2026.

Deadlines

ComplianceUtah attorneys must complete their CLE requirement by June 30th every year.
