Requirements

Iowa requires attorneys to complete 15 Continuing Legal Education (CLE) credit hours each year. The 15 IA CLE hours must include:

1 hours of Ethics
1 hour of Wellness or Diversity

All 15 Iowa CLE credit hours can be earned online with LexVid.

Reporting

Iowa attorneys are required to file their reports electronically by logging into the Office of Professional Regulation website, completing their online transcript, and submitting their annual CLE reports.

Carry Over Credit

Excess credits may be carried over for up to two reporting periods, with Ethics, Diversity & Inclusion, and Attorney Wellness credits counting as general CLE only.

Deadlines

ComplianceIowa attorneys must complete and report their CLE requirement by December 31st each year.
