Alabama's Continuing Legal Education (CLE) Requirement
The Alabama State Bar requires attorneys to complete 12 Continuing Legal Education (CLE) credit hours every year. The 12 AL CLE hours must include:- 1 hour of ethics/professionalism
- At least 6 hours of live courses
- The remaining hours may be taken with on demand courses

The Alabama State Bar requires that all hours must be earned by December 31st each year.Carry Over Credit
