Arizona requires attorneys to complete 15 Continuing Legal Education (CLE) credit hours each year. The 15 AZ CLE hours must include 3 hours of Professional Responsibility / Ethics.

How do I report my Arizona CLE compliance?
On or before September 15th, access your <a href="http://www.myazbar.org/CLE/cle_tracking_intro.cfm" target="_blank">online affidavit</a> and enter the CLE credits you’ve earned. Your credit information is contained on your certificates, and the location to enter is San Diego, California.
What if I'm a newly admitted attorney in Arizona?
New attorneys in Arizona who are admitted during the first half of an educational year (July to December) have a reduced requirement of 10 total hours, of which 2 must be professional responsibility / ethics. Attorneys admitted during the second half of the year have no CLE requirement for that year.
What if I've been inactive or exempt for part of my Arizona CLE cycle?
Unless you are a newly admitted attorney, any Arizona attorney who is active on June 30th must complete the entire CLE requirement by that date.
What if I don't comply by my Arizona CLE deadline?
AZ CLE can be completed after June 30th, and an affidavit can be filed after September 15th. However, the attorney will be subject to late fees as annotated in Rule 45(d), Ariz. R. Sup. Ct. The fee scale can be found here: https://www.azbar.org/licensing-compliance/mcle/mcle-requirements-deadlines/. If the CLE requirements are not met by December 15, summary suspension may result.
How are Arizona CLE credit hours calculated?
Under Regulation 104, credits are calculated by dividing the total minutes of instruction by 60 and rounding down to the nearest quarter.
Can I carry over extra Arizona CLE credit hours?
Yes. 15 hours of CLE credit, including three professional responsibility hours, can be carried forward to the next reporting period.
