The successful enforcement of international arbitration awards requires careful navigation of both domestic and international law. In this program, Neil Popovic, a partner in the Business Trial Practice Group in Sheppard Mullin, will lay out the legal details, practical considerations, and recent developments in international arbitration. Lawyers will be guided through the process of how to recognize and enforce an international arbitration award and deal with the tricky interplay between The Federal Arbitration Act and the New York Convention on the Recognition and Enforcement of International Arbitral Awards. Mr. Popovic will highlight the pertinent provisions attorneys must be familiar with, and the tools available for enforcement.
